Stripping the Cam and Pawl Diff

1. With the differential unit on the bench, remove the eight crownwheel bolts and tap off the crownwheel.

2. Remove the outer housing, the outer cam track and the inner cam track, take out the eight plungers from the plunger carrier.

3. Wash all parts and carefully inpsect for cracks and wear. The plungers and the profiles of the cam tracks should be examined thoroughly. Replace any suspect parts, the plungers should be changed at frequent intervals.

4. Reassemble in the reverse order using new crownwheel bolts which should be set to 75 lbs.ft. Ensure that all threads are clean and apply a drop of Loctite to the new bolts.
