Gearchange Actuator
To reassemble the gearchange actuator do the following steps.
1. Fit all bearings onto their relevant bearing diameters.
2. Fit the Pawls and Springs into the Actautor input.
3. Carefully holding the Pawls, slide the actuator input assembly into the Actuator Output.
4. Slide this entire ratchet assembly into the actuator housing.
5. Fit the detent ball and spring into its hole and tighten down grub screw. Ensure that the actuator output is free to turn and there is a nice 'click' feel to the detent. This is normally when the grub screw is flush with the actuator housing.
6. Align the keyway on the actuator input to the vertical and attach the actuator lever.
7. Test the actuator by twisting the input lever while gently holding the output in your fingers to offer a slight resistance.
8. Before fitting the actautor to the bearing carrier assembly ensure that the rectangular drive mechanism is lined up with the drive of the selector barrel. This is very important as damage may be caused should these not be aligned.
9. Following fitting of the actuator assembly to the bearing carrier fit the neutral reverse stop plunger and pin into it's hole.
